In Memory of Gracie

Sadly, we have lost our dedicated Roxy dog, Gracie. For the last six years, the children who met Gracie as a Roxy dog were always excited to get one of her big, wet kisses. She led a long life and shared her precious heart and soul with many children and adults through her service as a therapy dog. She will truly be missed by everyone who knew her.

Here are some words from her owner and handler, Jim Murray:

It is with great sadness to tell you Gracie passed peacefully at the Veterinarian’s office yesterday. Her legs finally gave out and she was ready to go. She would have been 14 in October and enjoyed a life of both giving and receiving at the Veterans hospital and through the many Roxy programs we were lucky enough to be involved in.

She touched the hearts of so many with her sloppy doggie kisses. She was my best friend and partner and life will not be the same without her.

Thank you for the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful group of volunteers.
