Retiring After 9 Years As A Roxy Dog

Gus is ready to roll in the grass and rest.

Gus is ready to roll in the grass and rest.

After a wonderful nine years as a Roxy dog, Gus has decided to enjoy his old age in retirement and slow things down a bit. Gus and his owner/handler, Bev Seltzer, have comforted countless children over the last nine years. They will be missed by all of us.

Thank you for your service, Bev and Gus!

Here are some words from Mrs. Bullard from Gayman Elementary:

“More than 8 years ago, Roxy Therapy Dogs connected me to the amazing duo of Bev and Gus.  Every week, they showed up at our classroom door with smiles and eager listening ears welcoming readers of all levels to feel safe and supported during their special time together.  Amazingly, they touched the lives of over 200 Gayman Elementary students! All of us at Gayman wish Gus a relaxing retirement filled with treats and belly rubs and we hope Bev is able to train another pooch for the program soon.  Our time together was “paws-itively” awesome!“

Gus loved his special stroller from Mrs. Bullard’s 4th grade class at Gayman Elementary.
