In Memory of Oliver
We, sadly, have lost another wonderful Roxy dog. Oliver was as sweet as they come and made friends everywhere he went. He will surely be missed by all of us in his Roxy family. Here are some words from his owner/handler, Liz Pearson :
For the past six months I knew the day was coming to say goodbye to Oliver. I prayed please let him fall asleep and cross the Rainbow Bridge. There he would meet his sisters that are already there, Abby and Gracie, and they would greet him with excitement to show him the areas of open land for running, places to go swimming, with plenty of sunshine, food, bones, treats, and McDonald's cheeseburgers. And, he could run again without pain. But, I also see him looking back saying, “what about mom”? Abby and Gracie say don’t worry - someday we will see her again and show her the sunshine, take her swimming with us, share our food, and of course, give her plenty of puppy kisses.
Oliver and I were inseparable, he was my best friend, a true companion and we were the best dog therapy team. I would put on his bowtie or bandana, and say “Oliver it’s time to make some people happy” and I believe he knew what his job was to do.
Thank you Roxy Therapy for what you created in helping children smile and bring joy in tough times.
