In Memory of Mo

Sadly, we have lost our smiley Roxy dog, Mo, who was the beloved rescued pup of Roxy President, Sharon Fleck, and Associate Director of Volunteers, Maddi Fleck. Mo was rescued by the Fleck family 3 years ago after having had an incredibly rough first 9 years of life. She was a funny, quirky girl with a gentle soul who made everyone laugh. Truly born to be a therapy dog, Mo was loved by children and adults of all ages and surely will be missed.

Here are some words from her owner and handler, Sharon Fleck:

Friends,
It is with a saddened heart that I let you know our sweet Mo passed away unexpectedly this past Monday at the age of 12. To say we are heartbroken would be an understatement.

Technically we rescued Mo 3 years ago but the truth is, she rescued us in ways we never could have imagined. This sweet, silly, smiley, sassy girl, who was nothing more than someone’s castoff, became my hero. She taught me about resilience and grace because, despite her less than positive beginning, she gave everyone she met nothing but kindness, trust, love, and her big toothy smile.

As I knew she would, Mo became an ambassador for bully breeds, and both educated and changed minds, by being an amazing Roxy Therapy Dog.

Our house is not the same without our Mo, Monroe, Mo-Mo, Piggy, and our lives are forever changed, for the better, as well.

Thank you, Mo, for teaching us how to overcome adversity with style and grace, and how to truly live our best life. We love and miss you beyond measure. Rest In Peace, My Sweet Girl. I will love you forever.
Sharon, President of Roxy Therapy Dogs, and her beloved Mo.
