In Memory of Nakoma
Our Roxy family will certainly miss our gentle and loving soul, Nakoma, who has unfortunately passed away much too young. She was truly born to be a therapy dog.
Here are some words from her owner and handler, Mary Alice Loeffler:
I have had a heavy heart with the loss of Nakoma but I wanted to share her life story with you.
Nakoma came to us as a rescue with an injured paw. Although she had pain, she never showed it. Hence her name "Nakoma" which means great spirit. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed bringing love and smiles to so many, especially the children.
She enjoyed kayaking, swimming and hiking at Stover Park, traveling with us wherever we would go, camping, and just hanging out with me and the family.
She loved visiting students in schools, senior homes and libraries. Her visits brought me great joy because I could see her own joy, as well as, the joy in others from her calm and loving demeanor.
Her spirit lives in me and I will never forget her. Murphy, Bambaroo and Benny Ben, her fur brothers and sister, miss her so much.
This sweet girl taught patience, compassion, determination, peace, and love to so many. She was taken from me way too young but taught me so much.
