In Memory of Zoe

Roxy canine volunteer, Zoe, passed away recently. All of us who had the pleasure of knowing her will miss her dearly. Please see the attached note from her handler, Sandy.

Yesterday was the hardest day of our lives as we sent our beloved Zoe to the Rainbow Bridge. Our home feels so vacant and cold without her. She had a wonderful, long life, and we were gifted with her presence for nearly 14 years. She never met a person she didn’t love, whether they were into dogs or not, making them feel like they were the most special person in the world. She was awesome in everything she did, and achieved the master level in agility trials, but being a Roxy Therapy dog was her favorite thing to do. She loved spending time with the fourth-graders at Gayman for years, but she really excelled working in the ESY program (Extended School Year summer program through Bucks County Intermediate Unit). She had a knack of surveying the room and then heading for the child who needed her most, often laying her head in their laps. She brought many a tear to those witnessing her love. She loved to show off her many tricks, her favorite being “saying her prayers,” which prompted an impressed fourth-grader to ask if she was Catholic!

We know she is happy and free of all illness and age now, and running at top speed through the clouds at the Rainbow Bridge now. Fly, Zoe, fly!
