Welcome to the August 2018 Roxy Reporter Newsletter!

The dog days of summer are fading fast! Hope students are almost finished with their summer reading. Roxy Teams have been busy but are always wagging their tails to go Back To School!

It's Raining (Cats And) Dogs!

The old expression, “it’s raining cats and dogs,” aptly described the conditions endured by visitors, cars, dogs, and volunteers at the Doylestown at Dusk Car Show held on Sunday, July 22. Though the rain fell, it did not dampen the spirits of all of the adults and children who stopped by to visit the Roxy dogs.

Many kids shared their excitement at seeing the dogs and expressed that they looked forward to being in the classroom with a therapy dog this school year. Roxy Therapy teams also fielded questions from guests about how their pups could become trained and certified therapy dogs.

Special thanks to our Roxy teams who greeted the visitors with joyful wags and 'pawtographed' our Be Like Bud books, as well as, to our Roxy volunteers who got a little soggy but still had a good time while setting up for the event and manning the table; Cheryl & Finn, Franca & Charli, Karen & Athena, Janet & Nike, Kerry & Atticus, Cecile, Bob, Linda and Pat.

Roxy Dogs Go To Summer Camp

The Central Bucks Family YMCA once again offered its Reading Camp for children. What a great way to have fun and strengthen reading skills before the new school year begins! Roxy Teams are always happy to visit the kids at camp.

National Dog Day On August 26

National Dog Day encourages dog ownership of all breeds, mixed and pure, and embraces the opportunity for all dogs to live a happy, safe and abuse-free life. Dogs give us companionship, keep us safe, and aid those in need.

On August 26, take time to honor your favorite dog and the amazing ways dogs add value to our lives.

Visit nationaldogday.com for more information about this special holiday.

A Round Of Applause

As you gear up for Back to School, the students in your household may not be applauding, but we have an opportunity for you to applaud their scholastic efforts and honor the work of their teachers. Boost their confidence as they contemplate new books and backpacks by recognizing them or honoring their new teacher with a donation to Roxy. Applaud your student or honor a teacher today!
