December 21, 2018

DOYLESTOWN, PA: The newly formed Roxy™ Club at Central Bucks East High School raised $181 for Roxy Therapy Dogs with a “Holiday Pictures with Pups” fundraiser held December 18-20, 2018. For a dollar donation, students and faculty had their photo taken with one or more of a dozen Roxy Therapy Dogs dressed in holiday garb during the school lunch periods.

“The Roxy Club was happy to have the opportunity to give back to such an amazing organization like Roxy Therapy Dogs that has given so much to the students of Central Bucks School District. We look forward to having more successful fundraisers, like this one, soon!” said Maddi Fleck, Club President and Associate Director of Volunteers with Roxy Therapy Dogs.

The students at Central Bucks East High School recently formed the first ever Roxy Club in an effort to give back to, and spread awareness about, the non-profit organization that has been a part of their school experience since they were just learning to read! The purpose of the Roxy Club is to organize community fundraisers benefiting Roxy Therapy Dogs, educate others in the community about the organization and the programs, and plan activities at school that give the students the opportunity to interact with Roxy Therapy Dogs.

One of the programs with Roxy Therapy Dogs is the Secondary School Stress Relief program currently active at all three of the Central Bucks School District high schools. This program provides support and compassion from our therapy dog teams to students dealing with the loss of a parent or who struggle with stress, anxiety or depression. The program began as a pilot program three years ago at the request of Central Bucks High School administrators.
