Doylestown PA — Roxy™ Therapy Dogs hosts its third Certificate of Excellence continuing education series titled, “Responding to Traumatic Events Affecting Children” over two days, October 30 and November 6, from 8:30-11:30 AM. Registration is open for this live event via Zoom to therapy dog handlers, parents, educators, volunteers working with children, and others interested in helping children.
Speakers include Jamie Pfister, NOVA Training Coordinator, on “Trauma 101 and Compassion Fatigue: Helping People, Helping People”; Julie F. Dwyer, Ph.D. and Jeffrey Walter, Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22, School Psychologists on “Insights into Children Affected by Trauma”; and Dr. Jacqueline Wilhelm, Veterinary Behaviorist on “Recognizing Signs of Stress and Anxiety in Your Dog.”
