Great News from CBSD: Roxy is "Essential"!

Roxy volunteers (both two and four-legged) are hereby considered essential to CBSD and are now permitted to visit ALL schools!!!

Dr. Leatherbarrow, Director of Student Services for Central Bucks School District, contacted me today and informed me that she had a meeting with Dr. Lucabaugh, Acting Superintendent for CBSD, and they agreed that Roxy volunteers (both two and four-legged) are hereby considered essential to CBSD and are now permitted to visit ALL schools!!!

I have to give credit where credit is due. The catalyst for this decision was a meeting last week between Roxy volunteers Maddi Fleck, Roxy Associate Director of Volunteers and Founder and President of the CB East Roxy Club; Nancy Flanagan Kelly, Roxy Board Member and CB East School Counselor, and Dr. Chad Watters, Principal at CB East. This meeting got the conversation going and prompted Dr. Watters to reach out to the Superintendent. THANK YOU, Maddi and Nancy!!!

This is obviously very exciting news but I want to be clear - any volunteer who is not comfortable visiting at this time certainly is not expected to do so.

For those who do choose to visit, masks must be worn at ALL times and a brief health questionnaire will be administered upon entering all schools. All schools are equipped with hand sanitizing dispensers should you need one. Teams who already have assigned teachers that you have been working with will receive a separate email from Phyllis Mikolaj, Roxy Director of Schools.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding as I know this school year has been difficult. We truly have the BEST volunteers and I can't wait to see pics of our teams back in action again!
