Responding to Traumatic Events Affecting Children

This live event via Zoom takes place on 10/30 and 11/6 and will educate participants on trauma, different traumatic events that affect children, how children can be impacted by trauma and crisis events, as well as best practices in trauma response.

We will address school-related trauma and response in detail.

Particular attention will be paid to compassion fatigue and how the helpers who respond to children affected by trauma should care for themselves.

Finally, for our wonderful Roxy volunteers and therapy dog teams everywhere, we include a lecture on recognizing signs of stress in dogs to ensure dogs stay well during trauma response work.
